Jace Vega

In the past few months, I have had the pleasure of meeting and interacting with many new writer friends. One of those friends, Emily Bates nominated me to join in the “Meet my Character Blog Tour.” Emily is a fellow Cedar Fort author, whose book, Demon’s Heart will be released in December.

What is the name of your character? Is he/she fictional or a historic person?

Jace Vega is a fictional character, although she reminds me in many ways of my sister Yvette.

When and where is the story set?

Eruption’s action begins in modern-day St. Paul, Minnesota.

What should we know about him/her?

Have you ever known someone who seems to have it all together on the outside: beautiful, smart, successful, popular? Jace is all of those things, but she doesn’t let people get close enough to see what’s happening inside. Something is missing. She dosn’t feel normal. She uses social media to avoid thinking about and dealing with her issues: control issues. Let’s just say that Jace is compulsive, especially when it comes to her routine. She likes everything in its place.

What is the main conflict? What messes up his/her life?

Jace already feels like a fish out of water at her new job in Minnesota, but a strange turn of events forces her way out of her comfort zone and into relationships with both former Stanford classmate, Corey Stein, and her boss’ handsome son, Damien Trent. These two men and a cryptic message that appears to come from the future turn Jace’s life upside down.

What is the personal goal of the character?

Who sent the message? Why was it sent to her? What does the message mean? What is she supposed to do with it? Who can she trust? These are the questions that Jace  must find the answers to.

Is there a working title for this novel, and can we read more about it?

You can read more about Eruption at adriennequintana.com

When can we expect the book to be published?

Eruption is set for release January 13, 2015.  Follow Cedar Fort Publishing and Media on Facebook and Twitter for news and updates.

I nominate Stephen J. Stirling and RC Hancock to join the tour and tell us about their characters.
